Ezekiel Elliott: Elliott wants to break rookie rushing record

Ezekiel Elliott was drafted fourth overall by the Dallas Cowboys this year and has yet to play a regular season game. “I haven’t seen those”, Elliott said.

“We were very confident since day one”, the rookie said.

Alfred Morris, who signed with the Cowboys offseason, George Rogers, and Dickerson are the only running backs to rush for more than 1,600 yards in their rookie seasons.

The same report citing insufficient evidence to support a woman’s claims against him included documents that had a text exchange between the two indicating concern over Elliott passing a drug test.

“He told me through his agent that he was going to break my record”, Dickerson said this week.

In order for Elliott to eclipse 1,808 yards, he’ll have to stay healthy for all 16 games and carry the ball at least 20 times per game.

“I like the record because you get one shot at it and that’s it, because you’re a rookie one time”. I let my lawyers and representatives handle the rest.

Whereas many have tried and failed, not all have had the offensive line Elliott will be working with. Also, the Cowboys have a movable brick wall for an offensive line. Dallas last used that strategy in 2014 and went 12-4 to win the NFC East. He will have the league’s best offensive line to run behind, though.

Thompson texted Elliott: “I know you’re stressed out, if you need me call me”. The holes are so gaping big, nearly like when Emmitt [Smith] played. The Cowboys have to preserve Elliott and not wear him down in his rookie season, seeing as he’ll be the centerpiece of the offense post-Romo.

“Whatever the team requires of me”, Elliott said. “He’s a north-and-south runner. I think he’ll do extremely well”. Even Adrian Peterson only had 347 carries when he almost broke Dickerson’s single-season yardage record in 2012.

Ace makes frequent appearances on Elliott’s Snapchat account as well, which led on fan on Twitter to wonder about Elliott’s obsession with the dog.
