The fourth overall pick from Ohio State told the media in Oxnard, California, this when asked if he will play against the Dolphins in preseason, “I don’t think so”.

Elliott tweaked his hamstring two weeks ago and did not play in Dallas’ preseason game against the Los Angeles Rams on Saturday.

While Elliott dreams of wide open running lanes, the Cowboys are hoping Elliott makes his line’s job easier, as well.

Even if Elliott can’t live up to his draft position, the Cowboys running game should be fine thanks to the line. “That means Elliott won”™t play in the second preseason game against the Miami Dolphins in Arlington, Texas on Friday night, and will probably make his pro debut in the “dress rehearsal” at Seattle on August 25.

“Dak was real impressive in our first game”, Elliott said. “I”™ve done a good job of paying attention and getting my mental reps. While he has yet to return to the competitive portion of practice, he couldn’t help but be inspired by Tuesday afternoon’s session. “I just have to knock a little rust off and finally get back to work.”.

Many people are expecting him to carry the ball over 350 times this season. They are being smart with Elliott right now and it should benefit them in the regular season. Look for running back Darius Jackson, and cornerback Anthony Brown to make their presence known this Friday. “I haven”™t missed any games,” Elliott said. I know I can not wait to see him run behind the best offensive line in football.
