F1 2016 Announced and Will Release This Summer

F1 2016’s career mode will let you create and customise your own avatar to represent yourself and choose a number to take you through your career, with options to choose and colour your helmet. The life-like recreation of the sport will be further enhanced by the addition of the sport’s iconic Safety Car and Virtual Safety Car, as well as the introduction of the challenging new street circuit in Baku, Azerbaijan for the 2016 FORMULA 1 GRAND PRIX OF EUROPE. There will also be “stunning hospitality areas” for each team, from which drivers will advance their careers with the help of motion-captured, voiced-acted Research and Design Engineer and a Player Agent.

Racing aficionados may be excited to learn that F1 2016 will restore some of the features absent from last year’s iteration when it deploys on the PlayStation 4 this summer.

The game’s main attraction will undoubtedly be its new career mode, now spanning 10 seasons.

We aren’t sure of a release date for the game as yet, but we can expect to see more details in the coming months. F1 fans will also be able to recognise key figures from the paddock in the hospitality areas. “Beyond improving upon the fastest and most thrilling on-track racing experience in gaming, F1 2016 uniquely offers the drama and vehicle development that goes on behind the scenes”. It also includes a new auto upgrade system integrated into a new practice development program. That game was very much a foundational release, as Codies finally brought the series to the current generation of consoles for the first time, but there were a number of notable omissions.

Ahead of this year’s Monaco Grand Prix, Codemasters have made a decision to officially announce their F1 2016 video game, set to be released onto PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Windows PC later this summer.
