FA Charges Tottenham and Chelsea with Failure to Control Team
A statement read: “Both Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur have been charged for three breaches of FA Rule E20 for failing to control their players and/or officials”.

The governing body confirmed yesterday a raft of sanctions against Spurs and Chelsea for offences during their ill-tempered 2-2 draw at Stamford Bridge on Monday night.
Though it isn’t inconceivable that the FA could heap huge charges on both clubs for their indiscipline on Monday, such as they did in taking points from both Man Utd and Arsenal many years ago, the likelihood is that both teams will receive a substantial fine and warned over their future conduct.
Dele Alli will miss the game at Stamford Bridge as he begins a three-match suspension for violent conduct, while Nabil Bentaleb remains out with a knee injury.
Spurs midfielder Mousa Dembele was charged with violent conduct after he appeared to try to scratch the eye of Diego Costa in the moments before half-time.
“The player has until 6pm on Thursday 5 May 2016 to respond to the charge”.
A growing number of people – admittedly the majority of which are Spurs fans – believe that pantomime villain Diego Costa may have bitten Tottenham defender Jan Vertonghen during the feisty affair.
The two players came together during a scuffle that was initially started by Willian and Danny Rose and video replays showed the Belgian midfielder attempting to eye gouge the Brazil-born Spain global, which was not spotted by the referees.
The statement added: “Off the ball incidents which are not seen at the time by the match officials are referred to a panel of three former elite referees”. Following the responses, specific punishments will then be handed out.
Chelsea and Tottenham have also been charged with failing to control their players following a series of flare-ups during the game, the result of which saw Leicester City crowned Premier League champions.
