Facebook adds support for 360-degree videos
And while there are tools that let you create interesting 360-degree looks, people will be able to upload their videos to the social network. Being true to his words, Zuck’s social networking website today announced that News Feed will now support 360-degree video.

To demonstrate, Facebook signed on partners like Discovery, LeBron James, and GoPro to show off how 360-degree videos can put you in the action.
Walt Disney Co has uploaded a video of its upcoming “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” movie, which allows viewers to explore the fictional planet Jakku.
Take a seat in Studio 8H and experience Jimmy Fallon and Justin Timberlake’s #SNL40 Cold Open like never before – in interactive 360°. Two months later, Facebook revealed it would start running auto-play ads in between clips in users’ “suggested videos”, amidst a growing firestorm of controversy about “freebooting” of copyrighted videos on the platform, stoked by a blog post by VidCon co-founder Hank Green. “We’re excited to see more innovative and compelling 360 videos being shared from these publishers”.
The new videos are launching on desktop and Android phones; Apple devices will come later in the year, Facebook says. While watching the video, you can use your finger to look around the environment, all while the speeder that you’re inside continues to move. On desktop, users can pan through the video with their mouse. “Along with updates from your friends and family, you will also be able to discover wonderful new content on Facebook from media companies, organizations, and individual creators”.
While the service is great, the cost for actually shooting 360-degree videos now is not quite low.

Facebook collaborated with its Oculus virtual-reality division on the new feature.
