Facebook begins rolling out Medium-like redesign of Notes
However, the update transforms Notes into a tiny CMS within the Facebook ecosystem.

For those of you with long memories, it’s something of a retro turn for social media: at the start of the 2000s, blogs were the original profiles, made popular by networks such as LiveJournal and Blogger.
It’s been five years since Facebook rolled out an update for its Notes services, so it fell somewhere in the depths of the internet, gathering dust and ignored about most users.
With this update, you can add a cover photo that represents what your note is all about. While Notes used to be (understandably, to some extent) all about the text, now graphics and formatting are given greater prominence.
The text can be further customized with the basic options of bold, italic and underline for a more elegant touch, though not accessible through built-in buttons, and users will have to make use of the well known keyboard shortcuts. Something very much needed for the old, mostly forgotten about feature.

As we noted when Facebook first began experimenting with the new look, the change also makes Facebook loos a lot more like Medium, the blogging startup created by Twitter cofounder Ev Williams. Note creation is, right now, limited to just the Web version only, but you can be sure that mobile versions should be up to date in due process. Facebook didn’t say whether this may eventually change.
