Facebook is reported to be planning an audio streaming service, potentially creating a rival to Apple and Spotify’s music services. Facebook is believed to want to get the video service right before branching into streaming.

Listeners can also get expert recommendations and save songs for offline listening.

Apple Music comes with the “For You” music discover feature which can recommend songs based on the genre and artists that the users picked when registering with the music service provider. That means that you, your brother, sister, mother and father can all use Apple Music for the price of one and a half subscription. May we suggest getting Justin Timberlake to do a show in the guise of Sean Parker, a la The Social Network? You just have to offer something unique, and Facebook is in the ideal position to combine streaming music and sharing between friends into a service that could change the way music is discovered online.

Speaking about the incoming service, one of Music Ally’s anonymous sources said: “It’s a mass land grab”. Apple, on the other hand, has made Apple Music available only for the iOS users. Through this has been the case for a long time, Spotify didn’t make a public point about it until shortly after Apple released Apple Music at only $9.99 a month.

Meanwhile, music streaming in the United Kingdom has reached a record high, with new figures showing an 80 per cent increase from previous year. For more information regarding security updates, you can visit Apple’s support website.
