“Our community and business had another good quarter”, Mark Zuckerberg said in a statement.
Menlo Park, Calif. -based Facebook’s revenue grew 59 percent, to $6.44 billion.
Facebook’s quarterly advertising revenue has reached USD$6.24 billion, the social media behemoth revealed in its second quarter results.

In June, 1.13 billion people on average were logging into Facebook every day. Wall Street expected Facebook to report earnings per share, excluding certain expenses, of 82 cents, compared with 50 cents a year earlier. Mobile represented 84% of $6.24 billion in advertising revenue. Daily mobile users increased to 1.03 billion, up from 844 million a year ago. When considering both the size of the platform and growth rates, Twitter is just no match to industry leader Facebook.
Excluding items, Facebook earned 97 United States cents per share for the second quarter ended June 30. These are significant increases from a year ago. Yeah. Actually, it was Facebook’s best quarter ever.
The research firm eMarketer estimates Facebook is taking in two-thirds of social media ad revenues, trouncing rivals such as Twitter, which this week reported disappointing results. Some takeaways from Facebook’s earnings and call with analysts.
