Facebook launches app for watching its videos on TV
When you get near one, the sound will fade in, and as you slide on past, it will fade out. Tuesday’s update, according to the social media giant, is an expansion on a feature released past year, which offered users the opportunity to stream videos from Facebook to their TV.

CEO Mark Zuckerberg has said that video is the format at the heart of what Facebook is and what it does.
More information on the changes is available to read here. Facebook has also been incorporating numerous most popular Snapchat video formats into its own apps.
Quoting Israelite, the report said that Facebook is protected by the Digital Millennium Copyright Act, the same law that can shield YouTube from responsibility for pirated material.
On Android devices, select “App Settings” and then scroll down to the toggle for “Videos in News Feed Start With Sound”. The more users it can get to watch videos on their smart TVs, the more ad revenues and content creators it would attract.
On the topic of content, word is that Facebook has recently been de-emphasizing live video in its ongoing discussions with publishers. The company has also hired Tamara Hrivnak to oversee its worldwide music efforts. On Tuesday, two of the company’s managers outlined several changes created to make watching video on Facebook richer, more flexible and more engaging.
The app will let you watch all the videos you’d normally watch on Facebook on a bigger screen.
Meanwhile, Facebook’s push for TV will also pit it against YouTube.
Facebook has announced plans to roll out an app for the biggest screen in your home so you can consume your favorite cat videos and long form content shared across the social network.
If you don’t see the option, the update hasn’t rolled out to you yet. The social network is improving the way vertical videos look on mobile, but that is no excuse to shoot them this way, folks – landscape is still the best way to record! “Well a few years ago when we started autoplay it was very new to people”, Rose said in response to potential pitfalls.
