In addition, the users of Facebook’s apps for iOS and Android will also get weather updates including the latest weather conditions as well as alerts about severe weather. Also, they can see all trending stories from multiple categories and frequently shared stories.
It’s getting a little hard to keep up with Facebook’s new updates and features, but one thing that hasn’t changed is the notifications tab. If a user have location sharing enabled and Facebook wants to pass along information about nearby businesses that may be interesting to the users, they will most likely receive a notification.
This information is taken from the Pages a user has liked, their Friends list and Events tab.
These new personalized options are being gradually rolled out users using both the iOS and Android version of the Facebook app in the United States only in the coming weeks. On Monday, the social networking giant announced a new personalized notifications tab with expanded features which we will talk about later on.
As the time when modernization in gadgets is going on, the users of Facebook are increasing day by day and for their convenient various functions as well as updates are released by Facebook.
Facebook product manager Keith Peiris said that they heard feedback that people wanted to add essential information so that they can easily see all in one place. Events happening in your vicinity, such as news popular in your area as well as local events will be covered in notifications.
The new feed also includes movie times and nearby places to eat and drink, linked to accompanying Facebook pages and reviews.

Again though, Facebook is keeping it all optional, allowing its users complete control over which events are important enough to warrant an instant notification.
