Facebook, Messenger and Instagram apps come to Windows 10

Apart from these desktop apps, Facebook is rolling out Instagram for Windows 10 Mobile. Facebook use to announce New features in its network monthly.

Accompanying this release is a Messenger app for Windows 10.

Facebook has been cautiously optimistic about the potential for money-making advertising on its popular services such as Instagram, Messenger and Live real-time video streaming.

According to a Facebook blog post, you’ll be able to share photos directly from File Explorer to Facebook. There’s also right-hand column for seeing friends’ birthdays, event reminders, and trending topics, and an in-app browser for reading articles from the News Feed. The Messenger app features desktop notifications and Live Tile support. It includes most of the options you’d expect: Direct messaging, Explore, search, videos, and account switching.

The new apps aim to bring the Windows versions to parity with their iOS and Android counterparts, which is saying a lot.

The new Facebook for Windows 10 App can live in your start menu and in a pinned Live Tile.

“Social media in today’s world is a human right, and for that reason should not be exclusive to global giants like Facebook who for sure have deep pockets to engage the best available lawyers”.

However, a Facebook spokeswoman told IT Pro that it had been engaged in conversation with Lucas for several months to see if there was another way for him operate his app and not risk infringing on Instagram’s trademark.

Overall, the launch of new apps can be considered a nice move on the part of Facebook that should also be heartening for both Microsoft and its loyalists.

All three apps should be available today.

The Facebook app is now available for machines running Windows 8.1 and Windows 10.
