Facebook Messenger no longer requires a Facebook account

And now David Marcus from the Messenger team announced that the separation between the messaging platform and social network has expanded globally.

However, the social media giant still recommends that users sign up with their Facebook account to sync chats and contacts between devices. The user can easily use this application for those who want to sign up without using the Facebook account.

Recently, Facebook even allowed third party app to develop games and other stuff which was the only drawback of the app which pushed the app behind Snapchat and Wechat in Asia region, although the Facebook Messenger app is far more popular app these apps worldwide.

You can sign up using your phone number if interested, but you can also use your Facebook account.

Facebook is expanding more features for its users, as the company is now experimenting with a “watch later” button on video, which allows someone to save their spot and resume later when watching video. It usually takes three days for recipients to receive the funds in their account.
