Numerous social media posts in north-central CT indicate the person has ties to the town of Avon. The post immediately went viral and had a slew of angry comments, accusing Brown of abusing her poor pet.

Police say she was out of state for the Thanksgiving holiday but that they would be contacting her when she returns to Florida. Both Torrington and South Daytona Police have appointed officers to route callers due to the high influx of calls about the incident.

Following a barrage of calls from concerned animal lovers, Avon police investigated an address associated with Brown’s family but quickly determined the incident did not occur there. “Unfortunately, we are a small agency and it has literally shut our police department down”.

According to the Orlando Sentinel, South Daytona Police went to Brown’s home and spoke with her son, who said the dogs were being taken care of and in good condition. It’s believed she lived in Avon. As it turns out, the name “Katie Brown” is an alias used only on Facebook.

An Avon Police Department spokesperson told WFSB-TV that the situation “is causing a serious strain on our dispatch center”, CBS News reported. Thank you to everyone who helped us out.

It added: “The police have all the information and have been working this case through the night”.

According to the City of South Daytona’s Facebook page, “Update on the disturbing animal Facebook posting”. “At this time we do not know Lemansky’s location, but will continue to follow all leads”.
