Social media giant Facebook has announced that it will now offer paid leave of four months to new fathers.
Maternity leave offered to Facebook employees around the world is already four months, and the benefit was available to both moms and dads in the United States. We want to be there for our people at all stages of life, and in particular we strive to be a leading place to work for families.
At four months of paid leave during a child’s first year and a $4,000 “new child benefit”, Facebook’s parental benefits are among the best in the U.S.
Facebook believes that the policy should not only apply for new mothers but also to soon-to-be fathers of this world as they deserve to have equal support in starting a new family despite their insights of what a family is.
“In reviewing our parental leave policies, we have chose to make this change because it’s the right thing to do for our people and their families”, Goler said in a post on her Facebook page this week.
“In reviewing our parental leave policies, we have decided to make this change because it’s the right thing to do for our people and their families”, according to Goler’s announcement as was reported by Business Insider Uk.
Zuckerberg and his doctor wife, Priscilla, revealed in July that they were expecting their first child, a girl, after a series of miscarriages.
The new dad’s have to meet certain criteria to avail the bonus, they can also take the leave anytime during the year the baby is born that includes adopted child.
