Byrne doesn’t come out much, so it should be a treat. IDW also has couple of convention specials available to attendees: a convention variant of the Star Trek 50th Anniversary Cover Celebration (seen above), and a special triptych drawing by “Star Trek” artist J.K. Woodward chronicling the 50 years of cast members. Set somewhere around the year 2260, it followed the crew of the Starship Enterprise: William Shatner’s Captain Kirk, Leonard Nimoy’s Mr. Spock, George Takei’s Sulu, DeForest Kelley’s Dr. “Bones” McCoy, Nichelle Nichols’ Uhura, James Doohan’s Scotty, and, starting in the second season, Walter Koenig’s Chekov.

Lindsey Shepard, the social network’s marketing lead for Messenger, said in a blog post that select users in the US and Canada who have expressed interest in Star Trek or science fiction will see personalized greetings inviting them to add the custom Star Trek frame to their profile pictures.

The thumbs-up for “Like” adds some intergalactic sparkle.

Unfortunately, getting the Star Trek emoji might not be as simple as going to the franchise’s Facebook page and liking it.

The new buttons feature Spock’s Vulcan salute (Love), Captain Kirk (Haha), Spock (Wow), Geordi and his iconic VISOR (Sad) and a very mad Klingon (Angry).
