Facebook’s Mark Zuckerberg hit back against Apple boss Tim Cook

These deaths were a prelude to a string of other gruesome and violent incidents that appeared in videos and live streams on the social network. But it’s unclear whether Facebook’s own reckoning will be enough to satisfy regulators and lawmakers.

So we connect more people.

Calling it a “wake-up call”, Stringer said the controversy over misuse of Facebook user data by Cambridge Analytica posed “revenue risks, brand risk, and risk to our democracy”. The Cambridge Analytica mess happened exactly because Facebook was looking to lure in developers with more of your data. One exception is the “Facebook Container” extension in the new Firefox web browser. “It’s nearly like we’re Inspector Renault in “Casablanca” where we say we’re shocked, shocked with what’s happening and then a moment later someone hands us our winnings”. They include former tech workers, venture capitalists and entrepreneurs like Brian Acton, who became a billionaire when Facebook acquired WhatsApp, a messaging company he helped found.

But on Vox’s latest “The Ezra Klein Show” podcast, Zuckerberg pointedly dismissed Cook’s ideas about Facebook.

Trust is a major key to any meaningful relationship. The company is removing targeted ads which collects the background data of users. It’s the only time the author saw Zuckerberg “display irritation”.

The war of words is unlikely to end any time soon, particularly as Facebook finds itself still the subject of intense scrutiny over how it handles privacy. There were also photos and video files in the html folder, each of which opened a web page where I could easily scan the photos or videos I posted on Facebook, along with the comments they garnered. It has also cut off major data brokers. Meanwhile, the company faces possible investigations in Britain and Canada. Speaking to The Investigators this week, he says he believes Facebook’s CEO understands how angry some people are about the company’s mishandling of their personal information.

Facebook also did not answer a question about whether it would make its entire platform compliant with the new regulation or have different standards for Europe and for users in countries such as the United States, where there is no general data law.

Cook said Apple was better off for charging its customers and not selling them to advertisers, and he called privacy a human right.

She calls for independent audits done by a “party who is not accountable to Facebook but accountable to users”. What, you think because you’re paying Apple that you’re somehow in alignment with them?

Tim Cook says Facebook should have regulated itself, but it's too late for that now
