Facebook’s Mark Zuckerberg with Priscilla Chan expecting a baby girl
While revealing that Chan has had multiple miscarriages in the couple’ efforts to have a child, Zuckerberg said in his Friday post on Facebook that a lot of people do not openly speak about miscarriages.

Alongside the announcement, the couple also mentioned that Chan had suffered several miscarriages before, according to Washington Post.
The world couldn’t be any happier about the news and gift of life that has brought into Mark Zuckerberg and Priscilla Chan’s lives.
Chan and Zuckerberg were married in 2012, and it was only last year Priscilla had stated it would take some time before they were ready for children. “It’s a lonely experience”.
In an interview with CNN, Zuckerberg showed his soft side when talking about what it will be like to be a dad, saying that he already feels a connection with his daughter and is “excited to meet” her. “You begin imagining who they will grow to be and dreaming of hopes for his or her future”. Zuckerberg shared that Priscilla is far enough along in the pregnancy that the risk of another miscarriage is very low. But he said he and Chan, 30, decided to share the information after hearing from friends who had similar experiences and ultimately were able to have children. Most people don’t discuss miscarriages because you worry your problems will distance you or reflect upon you…
I hope more people continue to use Facebook this way to get their message out there, especially when the point of their message is not just to impart news but to also make a bold statement of “you are not alone”. It creates understanding and tolerance, and it provides us hope. “Now we’ll focus on making the world a better place for our child and the next generation”, the Facebook CEO continued.

Meanwhile, the Facebook post was accompanied by a photo of the CEO himself together with his wife Priscilla cradling her baby bump and the couple’s Hungarian sheep dog, Beast.
