sponsored-stories-facebook-lawsuit-6012With a total of $15 to be paid to the people who were named in a lawsuit, Facebook is going to have to revamp a few things to be able to have their privacy settings protected from sources outside of the company. The problem stems with “sponsored stories” where there were these stories that hacked into people’s accounts and shared it around their friends. The data used to promote different products was taken without permission and this caused a lot of problems among the users. The entire deal will cost Facebook $145 Million. The unfortunate thing is that every user will only get $15.

Free money is free money it seems and the privacy tampering gave Facebook a profit of $73 Million still after paying the $145 Million. All in all, it’s not that bad. There are those in the lawsuit who are holding out for more and refused to take the money. However, many feel that this is in vain as no one is going to be able to stop Facebook from doing that again.

Judges have Facebook, lawyers and even President Obama! To take the social network down would be shutting down a way to promote your business, keep in contact with old friends and get your addiction. Many feel that this lawsuit is mainly so that people can try to extort money from the Social Network Giant. However, it is often hard to tell if things are not going exactly the way it seems to be going.
