For most, Twitter has become a hot spot to hang out during sporting events, but now its social media rival is trying to steal the crowd.
With Facebook having 1.55 billion users out of which 650 million are sports fans, the social media platform is a natural place to congregate for the type of passionate conversation that happens in any sporting event. Subsequent to that the social media company’s first sports product will feature most important sports events around the globe. Currently, the feature is available to the iPhone users in United States and covers American football games.
You can keep an eye on stats and scores, all of which are updated live; you can find out where to watch the game on TV; you can see sports commentary from journalists and others; and you can see what your friends are saying about the game.
Sports Stadium allows fans to experience sports in “real-time with your friends and the world”. And the answer to that question is Facebook Sports Stadium.
With the Sports Stadium feature, users could now share their thoughts and opinions about ongoing games in real-time, enabling users to celebrate, sympathize, and even trash talk their friends who are also watching the same game, reports Yahoo!

Next up for Facebook Sports Stadium after the conference championships and Super Bowl will be basketball, although Reed and Kafka weren’t providing details yet. However, Facebook has announced that it intends to expand the regional availability and the platforms which can use this feature. But overall, I like where Facebook is going with this, as in making its Sports Stadium a one-stop shop for rabid sports fans like me.
