Facebook testing temporary reaction button for Mother’s Day
It seems that everybody’s favourite social network is on the experimental path again, as some users have noticed that Facebook is testing a temporary reaction – just in time for Mother’s Day.

It says that the virtual flower icon will be accessible between 7 and 9 May. The reaction, which Facebook tells will be tested in a few countries outside of the USA, was first spotted by Twitter user Sreedev Sharma.
Facebook also confirmed that after Mother’s Day the flower reaction would disappear from the available options, but it will still be visible in timelines if you used it. The company is testing out a new flower reaction button for some users, as pointed out by Twitter user Sreedev Sharma. On tapping, Messenger will automatically add flowers to the messages. Keeping that in mind, it would not seem far-fetched for Facebook to be testing the temporary reaction button in limited markets prior to rolling it out on a more regular basis worldwide.

The company didn’t elaborate on which countries would be able to see the new reaction but it’s not surprising Facebook would opt to limit it to specific markets. Mother’s Day, which is a time to honor mothers, mother’s mother, and mother’s mother’s mother for their contribution to family and society, is observed across the globe on the second Sunday of May.
