Facebook Working On Fix For iOS App Battery Drain Issue
The battery drain is reported to be the result of continued running of background processes by the client even with background app refresh disabled.

This is an option available to people using iOS9 and turning it on is easy – simply select Settings, then Battery, then Low Power Mode and hopefully you’ll see a noticeable difference in the life of your iPhone battery.

But, as regards background battery drain, still showing the Facebook app to be rather too thirsty vs how much it’s actually being used.
