Fact-checking the first night of the Republican convention
Republican Sen. Susan Collins of ME said on Tuesday from the Republican National Committee convention in Cleveland that she hasn’t ruled out voting for the presumptive Democratic presidential nominee, Hillary Clinton – an admission that shows exactly how unpopular Donald Trump is within the GOP establishment.

Tuesday night’s address was the second RNC speech of Christie’s career.
“I am here to tell you Hillary Clinton will say anything, do anything, and be anything to get elected president”. At the September 14, 2012 coffin ceremony at Andrews Air Force Base, attended by Clinton, President Obama, and other officials, Secretary Clinton “looked me squarely in the eye and told me a video was responsible”, said Smith.
Delegates in the crowd below began to yell: “Lock her up!” We need one another to do this work and we need leaders like the NAACP. “Give ya a few more minutes, we’ll get there”.
In various instances of “bad judgement” having to do with negotiations in Libya, Nigeria, China, Libya, Iran, Russia, Cuba and “here at home”, Christie and the audience found Clinton to be “guilty”. The Department of Justice declined to prosecute her or those in her inner circle. “Some of you in this room”, she said at the NAACP annual conference. Classified information was recklessly revealed. The FBI Director said that was untrue.
During the week, her team and state Democratic coordinated campaigns will hold more than 500 registration or “commit to vote” events across the nation.
During her speech, Clinton made sure to take a light jab at her opponent Republican candidate Donald Trump.
“And there is a chance that he will make amends, start acting more presidential and come up with a positive agenda for our country”.
Clinton swung back at Christie, jabbing at him for the “Bridgegate” scandal.
“Donald Trump plays coy with white supremacists”, Clinton said. But Trump instead chose Indiana Gov. Mike Pence to be his vice presidential candidate this weekend.

Before Christie was in the running to be Trump’s running mate, he had been considered a top contender for the job of US attorney general in a Trump administration.
