Falcao happy with Chelsea FC move

Carrillo, 24, signed a five-year contract with Monaco, who paid Argentine club Estudiantes $10million (8.9million euros) for his services.

Thsi is exactly the kind of deal he cut a Manchester United last season which ended disastrously after just notching a mere four goals in over 26 appearances.

Falcao then made his way on to Monaco but his big-money move was less successful as he suffered a serious knee injury in 2014 and missed half of the Ligue 1 season and the World Cup.

Falcao is set to join his new team-mates on Chelsea’s pre-season tour of the United States, ahead of a possible return to Old Trafford on December 28.

Two goals in three games suggested that he was regaining full fitness, and United mounted a deadline day deal to sign him in September 2014, but the move proved to be a disappointing one as he scored just four times in all competitions for Louis van Gaal’s side.

Falcao, who failed to score for Colombia at this year’s Copa America where they reached the quarter-finals, previously played for River Plate, Porto and Atletico Madrid.

Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho certainly does not agree with this sentiment though and the Portuguese tactician has chose to take a chance on Falcao by recruiting him on a season long loan deal from Monaco.

Mourinho said last month he wanted to revive the forward’s career, saying: “It hurts me that people in England think that the real Falcao is the one we saw at Manchester United“.

A very excited Radamel Falcao explained, “I am very happy to be joining Chelsea”.

Falcao will be reunited at Chelsea with ex- Atletico team mates Thibaut Courtois, Filipe Luis and Diego Costa, the player he played in attack with during their 2013 King’s Cup triumph over Real Madrid, plus Colombia colleague Juan Cuadrado.
