The two-time African Champions held on to claim a 3-2 aggregate win over the Falcons.

They have now failed to qualify for back-to-back Olympic Games as they were also beaten to the 2011 ticket by Cameroon.

Led by NFF Executive Committee members Ibrahim Gusau and Dilichukwu Onyedinma, the delegation arrived in Malabo, Equatorial Guinea’s administrative capital on Thursday night, and slept there before proceeding to Bata the next morning.

The squad had a light training session in Bata, at a venue not far from their team hotel, after a short rest.

“The Equatorial Guinea FA officials have been behaving amusing, but we expected that. They have been trying to frustrate our team”, NFF official, Tunde Aderibigbe, said.

Super Falcons seem to be on their own as the team was abandoned for several hours in Benin Republic, and had to return to Lagos by road. “I want to assure Nigerians that my team is up to the task”.

“It’s an unfortunate disappointment”, NFF spokesman, Ademola Olajire, told BBC Sport. Super Falcons will travel to face Equatorial Guinea this Sunday in Bata but they will be missing three key-players.
