Falcons score 25 unanswered points to embarrass Cowboys
That quieted a Dallas crowd riled up by early hopes that the Cowboys might find a way to survive without Tony Romo and Dez Bryant.

Dallas’ offense was simply too conservative in this game.
The Cowboys came out swinging, scoring their first touchdown on their first drive, with just 57 seconds gone in the game. Rookie Tevin Coleman has shown flashes of potential, but he won’t be able to go because of a rib injury. Coleman started each of Atlanta’s first two games, but that may not be the case going forward.
Julio Jones glided over the goal line on a diving touchdown. Weeden had no issues with the Eagles secondary as he completed all seven passes attempted including a 42-yard strike to Terrance Williams. It was about as well as anyone could’ve expected the backup quarterback to play under the circumstances. It came on a 37-yard run from Joseph Randle, just a play after he had gone for 28 yards.
We can argue that Dallas wins if Tony Romo (collarbone) plays instead of Brandon Weeden. With the return of Sean Lee, the Cowboys look stout especially since holding Demarco Murray to only 3 yards on 13 attempts last week.
“With that being said we feel really good about our starting quarterback in Tyrod Taylor”. Why Dallas thinks he’ll be any different for them is beyond me. It’s normal. Is it fair? I like what we did out there today….
Any sort of nerves Weeden might have had were probably all but gone after he started Sunday 9-of-9.
Remember the months leading up to the 2014 season, when some believed the Cowboys would set records for the worst defense ever fielded in the NFL?
Weeden’s first incompletion was a callback to his Cleveland Browns days, as he threw against his body while scrambling to his left and overshot Jason Witten. Dallas will put up a good fight, but ultimately Ryan shines while Weeden struggles against an underrated Falcons’ secondary. Freeman carried the ball the last three yards for Atlanta’s first score.
Without a doubt, this will be a very tough game for Atlanta Falcons, and given that the Dallas Cowboys has the arguably best defense in the National Football Conference (NFC) and competent ground game. He accounted for 67 yards on two catches, including a 45 yard touchdown catch on third and three from the Dallas 45. Jones and Freeman combined for five touchdowns in Atlanta’s 39-28 comeback victory at AT&T Stadium.
The result of Jones’ new-found speed and versatility?
In fact, Weeden, a first-round choice by the Cleveland Browns in 2012, is 5-16 as a starter with 27 touchdown passes and 28 interceptions. The Falcons’ Devonta Freeman almost doubled that total by himself Sunday. Jones finished with 164 yards and a pair of touchdowns.
Matt Ryan can seize the moment as the Falcons look to have a 3-0 start.

As was stated all week by media analysts of all types and Cowboys fans of all locations, the 2015 regular season is all about staying above water, something they still are at 2-1. We already discussed the Cowboys much improved defense, however the Falcons and making great strides as well.
