Falcons vs. Saints: Thursday Night Football game time, channel, odds, and more

Julio Jones and the Atlanta Falcons are walking a fine line when it comes to their unbeaten record.

As usual, let’s start with a history lesson. After totaling 10 wins the past two seasons, Atlanta is off to its best start since going 8-0 in 2012.

Aaron Rodgers begins another interception-free home streak. Saints’ fans certainly hope not.

It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to figure out that the 1-4 New Orleans Saints are having a rough year so far. In last year’s Week 16 meeting in New Orleans, the Falcons and QB Matt Ryan won 30-14 as a 6-point underdog… With Matt Ryan and Drew Brees at the controls once more, don’t expect anything less. A lot of the players are the same on defense. The team’s lone win this season came in just that situation, a Sunday night overtime victory over the Dallas Cowboys in Week 4. Lastly, more consistent quarterback play is a must.

The video above shows why you should pay attention to Rawls – not to mention, Marshawn Lynch is expected to return from injury to play the Panthers and it’s impossible to ignore Beast Mode. “Stats don’t mean anything to us”, Ryan said. He’s concerned about pump-fakes and other subtleties this defense has not yet encountered.

From this side of the fence, it’s just insane. Setting up their defense is DE Cameron Jordan, who has 12 sacks in his past 17 home games.

In today’s National Football League, you’re nearly doomed without being able to pressure the quarterback.

The Falcons are coming off an overtime win against the Washington Redskins, while New Orleans is trying to forget about a brutal defeat against the Philadelphia Eagles.

HOPEFUL ABOUT JULIO: Quinn sounded optimistic that star receiver Julio Jones, who has not practiced this week because of a hamstring injury that appeared to affect his production the past two weeks, would nonetheless play in New Orleans.

The Saints, meanwhile, are down, but not out.

That was a flawed Philly offense. Anthony represents one of a few bright spots for the Saints with 32 tackles. No team has ever started 5-0 and come from behind the in the final stanza four times before.

Can wide receiver Joe Morgan somehow provide a boost? “What’s most important is winning, and he’s doing a good job with that”. Brees hasn’t thrown for more than two scores in a game yet this season, but he hasn’t had a bad game yet either.

One has to wonder when C.J. Spiller is going to be part of this offense? But Freeman is catching the ball well out of the backfield, too.

Whenever the Falcons play the New Orleans Saints, records do not matter. It’s a division game. Ingram should have a good game if the Saints stay within striking distance. It’s usually 20-something to 20-something. Philadelphia held a one-point lead midway through the fourth quarter.
