Fall TV: ABC’s ‘The Muppets’ offers nostalgia in modern package

Jim Henson’s family TV show The Muppets returns with a contemporary, documentary-style reboot series which will premiere on Tuesday 22 September at 8pm ET on ABC Network.

Annoyed, the well-known “Muppet” pig added that her ex’s failure to do the usual laundry list contributed to their decision to breakup. Or is Kermit waiting to figure out his feelings before labeling their relationship? Also: “a performance by Imagine Dragons”. The short answer is not really, but we can definitely see why a mom who grew up with the kid-friendly version of the show would be upset that she can’t share this take on the lovable puppets with her kiddos.

Aside from Banks other guest stars include: Tracy Anderson as herself, Tom Bergeron as himself, Meagan Fay as Holly, Jere Burns as Carl, Riki Lindhome as Becky, Nilla Watkins as Kim and Layla Alizada as Betty.

Prady enjoys envisioning the Muppets as real people.

Finally, the show that many child and adult have been looking forward to seeing this fall airs tonight for the first time. The Muppets are oddly low energy, and although the show mocks itself for using the exhausted mockumentary format, that doesn’t make it any less exhausted. They both elaborated on their post break-up life. However, I pretty much love all the Muppets, especially the offbeat characters like Sam Eagle, Bunsen Honeydew, Beaker and Lew Zealand and his boomerang fish.

Although “The Muppets” shares the backstage focus of the old “Muppet Show“, it lacks the spunkiness and innocence.

Sixty years after his first TV appearance, Kermit the Frog is still riddled with angst while maintaining a fierce determination to go on with the show. Viewers are gonna have to tune in to find out how this conflict develops as they will discover that Kermit is now currently dating Denise, another pig who’s a rep from ABC Marketing. “I bet you ripped his heart out, too”, Kermit said.
