Family in body parts case gives statement

According to probable cause documents obtained by Q13 Fox in Seattle, the saw was found in 40-year-old Ingrid Lyne’s bathroom in her Renton, Washington, home, and that family members said it wasn’t normally there.

Charlton, 37, was arrested Monday after police said remains believed to be those of Lyne were found over the weekend in a homeowner’s recycling bin.

When her ex-husband returned with their three daughters to Lyne’s home on Saturday morning, she wasn’t there.

Lyne had planned to go on a date to a Mariners baseball game Friday night with someone she met online, friends said.

In 2006, his parents filed a petition for an order of protection against their son after he arrived at their home angry and apparently intoxicated, the Seattle Times reports. “I just talked to her. She was a nice lady with great kids”, said neighbor Robert Croner.

Her friend Nancy Sivitilli said, Ingrid had been dating Charlton long enough to form a trusting relationship with him.

The Seattle police said that three human parts that included a severed head and foot were found in the city’s Central District on Saturday.

Edward Franceschina, 74, lives across the street from Lyne and described her as a conscientious mother and friendly neighbour whose daughters often played with other kids in the neighbourhood, including his grandchildren. There were several indicators that something had gone wrong, such as the fact that her ex-husband had dropped by her home in Renton to drop off their children, only to find that she wasn’t there. Police say the body parts had been packaged in plastic bags and placed in the bin sometime late Friday or on Saturday. “I mean, I just talked to her”, said neighbor Robert Croner to CBS News.

Prosecutor Jennifer Worley said in court yesterday that detectives found human flesh and blood in Ingrid’s bathtub near the saw. A spokesman added that the bin would have been empty since the recyclables were collected on the block Fridays.

Detectives connected the two cases, searched Lyne’s home for evidence and identified Charlton as a suspect. She was last seen headed to a date at a Mariners game Friday.

While body parts have been found, authorities have also told of now seeking the balance of the dismembered woman’s body parts and having enlisted the help of the Federal Bureau of Investigation and other law enforcement agencies to look into similar crimes in the area.

A court appearance was set for April 14, which is also the deadline for decision on charging, said Dan Donohoe of the King County prosecutor’s office.
