The man remained jailed Friday on preliminary charges of obstruction of justice, failure to report a dead body and unlawful disposition of a dead body.

Authorities found the body of a toddler that matches the description of Shaylyn Ammerman on Thursday night near the White River near Gosport, which is about 40 miles southwest of Indianapolis. The Owen County Coroner says she died of asphyxiation.
The girl’s father, who was subject to a police polygraph test earlier on Thursday, has denied claims he was having a party on the night of his daughter’s apparent abduction.
Adam Ammerman described Parker as a “friend of a friend”, but Morgan said he had visited her house about a dozen times.
Owen County Sheriff Leonard Hobbs said he couldn’t give details on what investigators have learned so far about Shaylyn Ammerman’s disappearance.
Shaylyn was last seen on Tuesday inside her father’s home, and detectives believe the girl was kidnapped from her crib.

Kyle Parker, 22, of Spencer, was arrested and was being held in connection with Shaylyn’s death, the release said.
“Information from witnesses and persons of interest led us to that spot”, Durnil said later during a news conference. She was last seen at the home where her father and grandmother live, on the 400 block of West Jefferson Street in Spencer. “We know he was in the house that night but we don’t know where his whereabouts”. “She was laying in her bed sound asleep, and then we went to bed and we woke up and she was gone”.

The gathering wound down at about 2am when the friend is said to have left the family home. He’s jailed and hasn’t been formally charged. “Please don’t feel like because we’ve found a body and that we’ve made an arrest that this case is anywhere near over”, Durnil said.
