Family’s pet dogs refuse to leave bedside of dying baby

“Our family told her that Nora was too hurt and too exhausted to carry on, and grandma said that she would be there in heaven, waiting for her with open arms”.

While updating everyone who is supporting the family both at home and online, Mary said she is trying to appreciate the time they had with Nora. Words will never be able to explain how much we miss you.

The family made a decision to take Nora off life support last weekend and photos of the family’s dogs comforting Nora during her last few days have garnered worldwide attention.

Mrs Hall had earlier written that the longer Nora was kept on life support, “the higher the chance is that she will suffer an acute crisis such as another stroke, heart attack or organ failure that will take her life”.

The Halls’ 8-year-old basset hounds, Grumpy and Gracie, took an immediate liking to baby Nora when she was born.

After her stroke, Nora spent three weeks in the hospital, which asked the Halls if there were any wishes for their daughter’s final days. If you’d like to help them, please visit their Go Fund Me page.

The stroke caused severe damage to both sides of Nora’s brain, and it proved to be too much for the little girl.

Nora’s mother has had the two dogs for eight years and already their bond with her baby is unbreakable.

Although she is now five-months old and in a medically induced coma, every moment that she is alive brings her closer to an inevitably fatal heart attack.

“Our hearts are so completely broken”. Our world is shattered, ‘ Mary wrote on Facebook on Friday as she revealed they are taking Nora off life support.

“We ache so much for our baby girl”.

“We do not know when or how this would strike, but it is likely soon. We tried so very hard to save her, but it just wasn’t meant to be”.

‘We have been praying so hard for a miracle, that we hadn’t realized that it was right in front of us this whole time.

‘That it was a miracle that she even hit milestones such as tracking with her eyes, chewing on her little hands, smiling and laughing’.
