“(Throughout Monday) the Underwater Recovery Team from the State Police and Livingston County Sheriff’s Office, assisted by Adventure Calls Rafting, Inc., have continued searches of the Genesee River below Lower Falls at Letchworth State Park”, the State Police reported. The children, ages six and nine, went missing and were presumed drowned. They were hospitalized with various injuries, from minor to serious.
Names of the victims have not been released yet. The body of one of the two boys has been found, but the search is still ongoing for the body of the second boy, according to The Daily Mail. David Page of State Park Police said.
The search for a 9 year-old and 6 year-old boy resumed Sunday morning. Swimming in the river is prohibited throughout the park.
