The man tumbled out of the stands during the seventh inning of the game as the Yankees’ Alex Rodriguez was walking to home plate. We’ve got a lineup that takes until you throw strikes.

The Braves also confirmed the incident on twitter. The Braves are not making the playoffs this season, but they are trying to end on a high note as they continue to rebuild for the future. Wisler struggled last time out in a 9-3 loss at Wrigley Field with seven runs allowed on four homers in 2.2 innings.

Armed with a fastball clocked around 70 miles per hour, Gomes gave up two runs, including a homer to Chris Young leading off the inning.

McCann, who played his first nine seasons with the Braves, received a warm ovation before his first at-bat in his return to Atlanta. He tipped his helmet to the fans. He had three walks and drove in four runs. After Nick Swisher’s sacrifice fly plated the Braves’ second run of the first inning, Tanaka got things sorted out. After Jacoby Ellsbury and Brett Gardner were retired, Carlos Beltran began a two-out rally in the top of the 1st. “I don’t think I’d have had the success early on in my career if it wasn’t for him”, McCann said.

In Arlington, Texas, Cole Hamels delivered his best performance yet for the Rangers, striking out 10 in eight innings to beat Baltimore. Outside of that first inning though, Tanaka sailed through the rest of the game.

When Yankee players and coaches talked to reporters, it had yet to be announced that the fan had passed away. Not with a Braves team that is melting down, having lost 10 of 11, and 25 of 34, after hanging in there for a while. After the Yankees took a huge lead the Braves came right back and scored two runs.

“He’s got tools”, Trembley said.

The Braves felt Olivera, from Cuba, needed to reach playing form following his July 30 trade from the Dodgers because a hamstring injury has limited his at-bats this season. At one point, he even used a Luis Tiant-style motion. The Bravos couldn’t keep pace with their seven hit, three walk attack that featured a homer and a pair of runs driven in by Freddie Freeman.
