Rap group Public Enemy got a Flavor of just how helpful people in Sheffield can be after a local stepped in and gave them a lift to their gig after a taxi mix-up – moments before they were due on stage.

Kevin dropped into the Record Collector store on Saturday where the iconic rappers were signing their new album to nab an autograph.
Ahead of their show at Sheffield’s Motorpoint Arena, number one fan and local photographer Kevin Wells found Chuck D, Flavor Flav and their entourage stranded at the legendary Record Collector store.
“We were chatting away, but the phone was constantly going as their management were clearly anxious”.
Kevin, who described the ride as “the most surreal journey of his life”, said the group even rocked out to Queen’s hit Bohemian Rhapsody – before posing for a selfie.
Rhapsody came on his auto stereo “and they all started head banging in the back like in the film Wayne’s World”.
Commuting has never been so badass.
“When we pulled up to the arena I said to the security guard, ‘This might sound daft but I’ve got the band in here'”.
Kevin said: ‘I drove up to security and said: ‘I’ve got the band in the back’.
‘I was looking in the rear view mirror thinking, “is this actually happening?”‘
The hip hop group – who shot to fame following the release of their 1987 album Yo!
He said: ‘It was fantastic, it just didn’t feel real’.
After a few celebratory hugs, Wells drove off and back into his own universe, photographing gigs that night by Scouting for Girls and The Enemy.
He said hundreds of fans braved the rain to turn up for the event.
Public Enemy had booked the taxi to avoid trying to get their tour bus through Sheffield’s narrow roads.
Ford tweeted about the fantastic moment, with a brilliant use of Public Enemy lyrics.
‘Sometimes fame can ruin people, but it clearly hadn’t with them’.
