Fan ‘reunites the Beatles’ after buying Ringo’s drumkit for £1m

Paul McCartney, guitarist John Lennon, drummer Ringo Starr and guitarist George Harrison perform on live TV in 1963.
Mr Irsay, a known collector and huge music fan, also owns famous guitars played by Bob Dylan and Eric Clapton.
The buyer was Indianapolis Colts owner Jim Irsay, who added it to his other Beatles owned instruments.
Ringo Starr is set to auction off his copy of the Beatles ninth studio album, The White Album, an original mono United Kingdom edition stamped with serial number A0000001. Another anticipated item will be Starr’s first copy of The White Album, aptly named due to the fact that the album is literally just the color white.
The auction started Thursday and runs through Saturday.
Also for sale is a guitar used by John Lennon, which the late Beatle gave to Starr.
More accurately: Those with piles of cash lying around and an abiding love for British Invasion memorabilia should consider checking out an auction taking place December 3 – 5 in Beverly Hills, in which Ringo Starr and his wife, actress Barbara Bach, will unload a veritable trove of Beatlemaniac treasure. The rare album is among a number of selected items from Starr’s life and career to benefit his Lotus Foundation charity.

Part of the sale proceeds will go to The Lotus Foundation, which was founded by Starr and Bach and aims to fund and promote charitable projects, reports Reuters.
