Fans “Awaken” for Opening Day of Star Wars Movie
“The Force Awakens” is also on track to blow past the opening weekend record of $208.8 million set by “Jurassic World” in June.

Truck driver Caroline Ritter, 34 and firefighter Andrew Porters, 29, are among about 100 fans who have been camped outside Hollywood’s Chinese Theatre since December 5 for the opening of The Force Awakens.
The seventh film in the sci-fi fairytale saga has taken an estimated £9.6 million on its opening day, with the one day take in Ireland bringing in a staggering €836,845.
Overseas, “The Force Awakens” has grossed $72.7-million in two days, setting debut-day records in more than a dozen nations as it opens in 44 foreign markets.
“The potential for “The Force Awakens” to ultimately break into the $2 billion club worldwide is certainly in the realm of possibility”, said Paul Dergarabedian, of box office tracker Rentrak.
It has smashed records for the biggest opening day of all time but it looks to shatter all time box office records for any film’s opening weekend, as well.
Star Wars fans have voiced their outrage on Twitter after chancellor George Osborne was given a credit in the new film.
Among those who’ve had an early viewing of “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” commented to Marvel’s tweet to share their opinions about the film.

The movie is opening three years after Disney paid $4.06 billion for Lucasfilm.
