Fans Outraged After Teen Choice Awards Fails To Acknowledge Christina Grimmie

However, some fans pointed out that even though the Teen Choice Awards had segments dedicated to the social issue, the show failed to pay tribute or even mention Grimmie, who was shot and killed on June 10 right after her concert in Orlando.

Grimmie won the Choice Music Web Star award, however, like many awards, it was not announced during the broadcast due to timing restrictions.

The late singer wasn’t mentioned during the awards show broadcast.

According toEntertainment Tonight, Christina’s family is reportedly upset over the Teen Choice Awards’ decision not to mention the slain singer ONCE during the two-hour long broadcast.

‘It seems they could have paid honor or tribute to her in some way and that opportunity was missed.

Grimmie fans took to Twitter to vent their frustrations, with one stating: “christina grimmie, a victim of gun violence, did not get one mention at the TCAs after being exploited for views and tweets”.

Jessica Alba and Ne-Yo introduced the audience to the “victims of gun violence” surrounding them on stage, grossly failing to acknowledge the group included family members of those who lost their lives to an act of domestic terrorism in San Bernardino as well as the teenage son of Alton Sterling, a convicted felon in possession of a handgun actively resisting arrest. “She deserves better than that”. Now more than ever, we need to stop, feel and ask what’s going on.

“So the TCA’s essentially nominated Christina Grimmie after her death for promo and never even mentioned her name on air?”, another fan added.
