Fans pay tribute to music legend David Bowie outside his NYC apartment

Like many of us, I always knew who he was, knew his hits and the highlights of his biography. I woke up this morning with a tender head from tears and that big red cup of… His 25th album Blackstar was released just days before his death. He died peacefully and was surrounded by family. “She has taken the decision to continue in the programme”. But Bowie showed being different was cool. What really made the song “Space Oddity” so special, though, was it was the first song to feature Bowie’s fictional character astronaut Major Tom, who would later be in Bowie’s other songs like “Ashes to Ashes”, “Hallo Spaceboy”, and “Blackstar”. “Can you imagine how dark it would would have been without him?”

The tweet also featured a link to a performance of Heroes Bowie gave in West Berlin in 1987, two years before the then divided capital was reunited. It seems that right after the release of his 24th studio album, “The Next Day”, in January 2013, he immediately got back to work writing “Blackstar”.

“This year’s concert will certainly be remembered as a poignant celebration of his music by his friends, peers, and fans“.

David Bowie’s star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame has been covered with candles, flowers and glitter, as residents reacted to the news of the icon’s death from cancer.

The event will see music played from across Bowie’s extended career, in what is sure to be an emotional affair for all Warwickshire music fans. It closes this month.

Mourning fans have begun placing tributes at a mural of the singer in the make-up of his most famous character, Ziggy Stardust, which is outside his childhood home in the southwest London district of Brixton.

Bowie’s supermodel wife Iman, who has not commented publicly on his death, posted a series of poignant messages on social media in the days before he passed away. “I’m so very sad”. “I’ll be offline for a while”.

Bowie was nominated for 14 Grammy Awards.

ANTHONY DECURTIS: It’s one thing to be influential in rock “n” roll, but when you start affecting the pop world – and by that, I mean people like Madonna or Lady Gaga – Bowie was an extremely important figure for them.
