Minnesota Vikings quarterback Teddy Bridgewater suffered what early reports seem to indicate was a serious injury to his knee during Tuesday’s practice.

Bridgewater suffered a dislocated knee and tear of his ACL, not to mention other structural damage, which effectively ends his 2016 season before it started. “We all feel bad if it is real significant for Teddy”. Tehrany said those who dislocate their knee can expect a recovery from nine to 12 months in best-case scenarios and, if arterial or nerve damage is ultimately found, the recovery could be as long as two years. Bridgewater will have surgery in the next several days, the team announced in a statement Tuesday evening, and could require up to a year to recover from the injury. Greene says most division one athletes who just have an ACL injury can come back and play at 90 percent, but the averages most likely drop when a knee dislocation is involved.

Asked if Bridgewater would play in 2016, head coach Mike Zimmer told NFL: “It doesn’t look good right now”. “We’re going to fight like we always do”. Many of us are also Vikings fans and the news that Teddy Bridgewater’s knee was almost destroyed was about the worst thing imaginable for the 2016 Vikings.

Bridgewater completed 292-of-447 pass attempts for 3,231 yards and 14 touchdowns last season to help the Vikings to the NFC North title. Shaun Hill and Joel Stave are the team’s other options at quarterback.

Cornerback Captain Munnerlyn was in a group of about seven players who went to the hospital where Bridgewater was taken by ambulance so they could visit their teammate. But he also tried to steer the team’s focus back to the field as the players prepare for their preseason finale against the Los Angeles Rams on Thursday night and the season opener at Tennessee on September 11.

EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. (AP) – The Minnesota Vikings have released center John Sullivan, ending his eight-year tenure with the team after he missed last season because of a back injury.

“We’re gonna grieve today and be upset about it”, Zimmer said.

Journeyman Shaun Hill is the backup quarterback.

“Teddy is such an fantastic kid, ” Zimmer said.

“They said when Teddy went down you know the curse of Minnesota, and it started in the preseason”, said John Lawton, fan. “Everybody loves him. So it was disappointing for (the players) and I didn’t think we were going to get much out of practice”.
