Fans urge Marvel to give Captain America a boyfriend

In early May, Twitter users launched the #GiveElsaAGirlfriend campaign, asking the studio behind Frozen to consider including a lesbian relationship in the musical’s upcoming sequel.
The good people of the internet have now kick-started a campaign to try and get Steve Rogers and Bucky Barnes into a relationship, with the hashtag #GiveCaptainAmericaABoyfriend now doing the rounds across Twitter.
“I think it’s great”, the actress told Entertainment Weekly. “I’ll let them figure that out”.
After GLAAD reported that Disney failed to include even one LGBTQ character in their major 2015 films, Disney is under quite a bit of pressure to be inclusive.
Steve Rogers AKA Captain American ends up dating his dead girlfriend’s niece Sharon Carter in the recent film and fans are now asking-how is that better than dating a guy?
“I feel like it sucks that people in the LGBT community don’t get the representation that they deserve and it would be so fantastic for something like Captain America or Marvel to be able to portray that”, he told Metro.

Speaking to Metro, she said: “I feel like it sucks that people in the LGBT community don’t get the representation that they deserve and it would be so awesome for something like Captain America or Marvel to be able to portray that. and maybe just let people know that it’s okay to be who you are. you know? LGBT people are already part of families and communities around the world, and film of all genres should reflect that”.
