Fantastic 4′ 2015 Reboot Reviews are Mostly Negative — Twitter & Critics’ Quotes

Clocking in with a run-time of 100 minutes, the film feels very rushed at the end.

‘Sue is happy, ‘ chimed in Kate who becomes the Invisible Woman in the origin story. The first “Fantastic Four” movie was created in 1994, but it didn’t see the light of day, though bootleg copies were circulated. We’d wager that Josh Trank has another terrific film in him though, but we’d also wager he won’t be around for Fantastic Four 2, if Fox still presses ahead with that. Leaning toward the comic book hero style, but not so much that it’s distracting.

Whiplash’s Miles Teller plays Reed Richards, whose body can stretch into different forms.

This time around Miles Teller, Michael B Jordan, Kate Mara and Jamie Bell fit the bill as Reed, Sue, Johnny and Ben. “Everyone pretends to be excited by Reed’s invention, a teleporter which can transport a monkey into an alternate dimension”, he wrote. Now they want to teleport humans there (suuuch a good idea). Everybody who’s ever met someone named Von Doom raise your hand. They were always going places, running into danger on other planets or other dimensions. Victor gets left behind, the tainted Reed, Ben and Johnny come back to Earth, but their contraption explodes near Sue, so she gets covered in inter-dimensional cooties, as well. But, if the reviews wind up hurting the turnout, Fox’s plans for Fantastic Four 2, which is now slated for a June 9, 2017 release, could be scrapped altogether.

Brain Lowry of Variety also shared a similar opinion, calling the entirety of the movie a “protracted teaser for a more exciting follow-up that, depending on whether audiences warm to this relatively low-key approach, might never happen”.

Fantastic Four has a swing, but it misses by a mile. A whole lot of people already know the background story and probably even more don’t care. Trank feels more at home just pointing the camera and recording things, as it seems he can’t be concerned with getting solid performances from his actors or stringing together a coherent movie. Teller, usually a charming presence, is saddled with the task of standing on a rock saying some of the most obvious lines, like “Don’t do this!” and “We’re stronger than him”.

Die-hard fans will undoubtedly show up, but box-office results for this release will fall far short of what Marvel achieves with its own in-house productions.
