A sequel to the Harry Potter spin-off movie Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them has been given a release date of 2018, according to Warner Bros Pictures.

The book – a script and not a narrative novel like author J.K. Rowling’s previous Potter books – was published at midnight on Sunday, shortly after the play’s gala opening. The next movie’s official release date has been set for November 16, 2018, nearly exactly two years after the first film releases.

In the U.S. and Canada the screenplay sold more than two million copies in the first two days, an “unprecedented” result for a script book according to publisher Scholastic.

Scholastic reportedly printed 4.5 million copies of “Harry Potter and the Cursed Child Parts One and Two” script book.

The Harry Potter franchise recently grew with the addition of a play, Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, keeping interest in the wizarding world high. I wouldn’t be surprised if J.K. Rowling wasn’t already working on it right now.

The film stars Eddie Redmayne as Newt Scamander, a wizarding writer who must track down the said fantastical beasts, who are on the loose.

News of this film comes just days after the release of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child script, and the premiere of the play in London. The Wizarding World of Harry Potter theme parks at Universal Studios in Orlando, Hollywood and Osaka, Japan, continue to entertain record crowds and Warner Bros.

Yates will return to the director’s chair in the second “Fantastic Beasts” movie and Rowling will once again write the screenplay. “So, I’m thrilled to see it realized so beautifully but, no, Harry is done now”.
