The Publisher Little, Brown and Co released the script of the eighth Harry Potter tale at one minute past midnight on Sunday 31 July, and declared the sales of the book on Wednesday morning.

“Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows”, the seventh and then-final book in the series, became the fastest-selling work ever after its publication in the summer of 2007.

Parker has been very aware from the beginning that the character of Harry Potter is one that comes with baggage and expectations from the fans.

However, the sales of Cursed Child are a testament to the longevity of the franchise, although they fell far short of the sales record set in 2007 by Deathly Hallows, which sold 8.3 million U.S. copies during its first 24 hours on sale.

“After just two days” sales (it) is already our biggest-selling hardback since Dan Brown’s “The Lost Symbol’ in 2009”, Kate Skipper, buying director at United Kingdom bookstore chain Waterstones, said in a statement.

The “Potter” books “shaped my moral views, my understanding of how people should treat each other, and how we should behave in the world”, Ms. Zalon said.

Globally the seven Harry Potter novels have sold more than 450 million copies since the first book hit the shelves in 1997. The wizard’s adventures have been translated into 79 languages and adapted into eight films.

The tickets are released at 1pm every Friday for performances the following week and they are priced at £20 each for both shows.

With speculation that the new play could be taken to Broadway in New York, Rowling said she was enthusiastic about performances overseas. Entertainment Weekly reported that Scholastic Trade was thrilled to see the fans’ reaction to the release of the book. At first it seems like it is something kept secret like in Men in Black, but later books and films reveal that magic goes way too public, and it could be known about in the real world, but it is ignored for certain reasons.
