You’re probably aware that the Harry Potter universe is coming back to the big screen with Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them this November, but did you know that it’s the first of a planned new trilogy from this wizarding world? Of course studios do this all the time, giving dates to sequels way in advance, sometimes before that feature film even gets the green light.

The story continues 19 years after the events in the Deathly Hallows and follows Harry, who now works at the Ministry of Magic, and his son Albus Severus who attends Hogwarts.

NEW YORK (AP) — The “Harry Potter” spinoff “Fantastic Beasts” is turning into a franchise of its own.

Furthermore, the recently premiered play “Harry Potter and The Cursed Child” was released in paperback just three days ago, and since then the sales for the J.K. Rowling-penned title have surpassed 2 million copies.

Tickets to parts one and two of the Harry Potter play in autumn 2017 are on offer for £600 and up on eBay, while some sellers on StubHub hope to fetch over £900.

However, the sales of Cursed Child are a testament to the longevity of the franchise, although they fell far short of the sales record set in 2007 by Deathly Hallows, which sold 8.3 million United States copies during its first 24 hours on sale.

David Dore photos Fans of the Harry Potter series brought out their best T-shirts and costumes as they flocked to Barnes & Noble in Leominster Saturday night to await the release of the eighth book, “Harry Potter and the Cursed Child”.

The movie, set in 1920’s NY, follows Newt Scamander (Eddie Redmayne) as he frantically tries to rescue Big Apple residents from the monsters he accidentally unleashes upon them.
