The Dallas Mavericks are serious in their pursuit of Jeremy Lin as reports revealed the Mavs are looking for a sign-and-trade agreement with the Los Angeles Lakers, Yahoo Sports reported. If Lin does not re-sign with the Lakers, he’d be on his fifth National Basteball Association franchise in six seasons. The Mavericks have been interested in landing Lin, but their current cap situation makes signing him at market value an obstacle.

Wojnarowski says Lin’s proficiency in the pick-and-roll has the Mavericks interested now that hey have agreed to terms with DeAndre Jordan.

Lin averaged 11 points and 4.6 assists in his lone season with the Lakers. Raymond Felton is the only point guard on the roster now.

“Although he has downplayed the importance of starting or coming off the bench, Lin considers it a priority to join on a team where he both feels comfortable in the offense and plays a significant role”.

The Mavericks are also close to striking a deal to re-sign veteran guard J.

Aside from the Mavericks, several teams have reportedly expressed interest in Lin. The Lakers could still send a player to Indiana prior to finalizing the Hibbert trade, according to Wojnarowski. Alex Kennedy of Basketball Insiders recently revealed the Knicks could pursue their ex- playmaker this offseason.
