FANTASY PLAYS: In Week 2, don’t overreact to opening games

He also has only one 100-yard game and no touchdowns over his last six games going back to last season.

Here are the Start/Sits for fantasy football Week 2.

Maybe it’s a lack of belief in a Niners team that wasn’t remotely tested or maybe a supreme belief in the talent of the player. either way, Harmon is riding with Cam Newton, Graham Gano and the Panthers defense in Week 2. I like Vereen on DraftKings where his pass-catching ability plays well on a full point-per-reception website.

Hate: T.J. Yeldon – The guy is rarely productive. Yet, with the former Jet out of the picture, everything was wide open for Yeldon – and he underwhelmed severely.

Williams plays the slot, so he might not have the touchdown upside as teammate Dontrelle Inman, who is also a potential fantasy football sleeper this week. Delanie Walker was held to three catches for 42 yards in the first week, but the Titans should make more of an effort to get him the ball against the Lions. The supposed No. 1 Redskins running back turned in a miniscule 24 yards on just seven carries, and had more false start penalties (1) than he did touchdowns. Sure, Denard Robinson snuck in for eight snaps of his own, but that’s a colossal hold on the split. The point is, sometimes opportunity is more important that the results. The Falcons will travel to Oakland, where they face off against a Raiders defense that was absolutely decimated by New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees in Week 1.

SNEAKY PLAY: Victor Cruz, New York Giants – If you weren’t happy to see Victor Cruz salsa-ing in the end zone last weekend, well, you’re likely dead inside. At the very best I would stay that HIll could be used in the FLEX, but even then there are better options available. However, it might have been better for his owners, a group on the rise thanks to Cruz being the third most added WR on ESPN this week, to see how often he was utilized. Enter Eli Manning and Odell Beckham in Franchise’s lineup. Foster has missed a ton of time in his career, thus many fantasy football owners are holding their breath in hopes that won’t be the case once again.

The players I’m going to discuss are borderline fantasy starters for the week.

Love: Mark Ingram – New Orleans had a healthy lead last week in the second half, but they continued to throw the ball which led to some quick changes of possession. At this point of the year, it’s still worth considering data from 2015 when analyzing what players may or may not do since we have such little data from this season.

While Johnson caught three-of-five targets in Week 1, he should be in for a pretty heavy workload in the passing game this week with Josh McCown under center. San Diego’s defense is subpar at best, but their explosive offense keeps them in many games.

We have incredibly high expectations for Gurley, and he’s earned them, but he averaged 2.8 yards per carry against the San Francisco 49ers, and if it wasn’t for one 10-yard rush, he would have finished at 2.3 yards per carry.

As mentioned, this game will not be easy in any way for the Cowboys. The passes will have to go somewhere and Woodhead is clearly a solid candidate. Jason Witten had 13 against NY. Even with Washington’s Bashaud Breeland still picking up the pieces of his soul following Monday night’s drubbing at the hands of Antonio Brown, I’m not confident that Prescott will be able to exploit the corner with any consistency. He had one target, which he caught for a touchdown. Michael Thomas only had 6 receptions for 58 yards. But don’t forget that last week Jimmy Garoppolo-in his first National Football League start with several starters, including future Hall of Fame tight end Rob Gronkowski, missing on offense-still managed 264 yards and a touchdown in the exact same spot in Week 1.
