Farage quits as UKIP Leader

Nigel Farage has said he’s up for joining Celebrity Big Brother after standing down as leader of UKIP.

Farage announced earlier his decision to stand down as the leader of the pro-Brexit UKIP party after fulfilling his promise to have Britain out of the European Union.

“And that is why I now feel that I have done my bit, that I couldn’t possibly achieve more than we managed to get in that referendum”.

“He will be a great loss, but he isn’t the whole of the party, so I am confident we can continue our good work after he leaves”.

It is the second time Mr Farage has resigned in just over a year.

“First Johnson and now Farage, what a mess, they lead campaign to exit European Union then walk away leaving the country in a state of uncertainty”, Labour MP Angela Rayner tweeted. “What I’m saying today is, “I want my life back”, and it begins right now”, said Mr Farage, who has two teenage daughters with his wife Kirsten Mehr, a German citizen.

Chirs Wells is the latest to have his say on Mr Farage, and joins the leader of the opposition on KCC, Roger Latchford, in singing his praises.

Throughout his political career, Farage has often attracted controversy. “I’d be very good at that one”.

Mr Farage helped to set up Ukip after then Prime Minister John Major signed the Maastricht Treaty, which paved the way for a more integrated EU.

While all of the Conservative candidates to succeed Cameron say there is no going back on the decision to leave, some anti-Brexit politicians say it is still not a foregone conclusion. He said if there were an election this autumn, he would not want UKIP to stand against Brexit MPs.

“I have chose to stand aside as leader of Ukip”.

“And yes, I’d like to have that opportunity to do so”.

Farage had simply weighed in on the role of PM saying that it would be “inconceivable” for the next leader to be someone who supported the Remain movement.

“UKIP has an image problem”, she acknowledged. “I think he should be a part of negotiations, whether he’s been told he can’t do that as UKIP leader I don’t know”. We have to clean up our act’.

Farage has two years remaining on his term as a Member of the European Parliament, or until the United Kingdom officially leaves the EU, but says “he hopes the next prime minister will complete the job in less than two years”.

“I will watch the renegotiation process in Brussels like a hawk and perhaps comment in the European Parliament from time to time”, he said.
