She said her husband was “yelled at” by the airline worker who was unaware of the star as he prepared to board a connecting flight at Atlanta airport.

Witnesses at the scene of the incident said Mrs Farah called the Delta Airlines worker “f– pathetic”, told her she led a “sad little life”, and was being “disrespectful”, before demanding an apology. Once aboard, they were applauded by passengers.

The extraordinary row was said to have played out in front of stunned passengers as the family returned to their home in Portland, Oregon from Rio de Janeiro.

The 33-year-old was still sporting a Team GB holdall and Rihanna was hugging a Pride the lion Team GB cuddly mascot.

In an interview the Olympic champion’s spouse alleged that her husband was treated like a “piece of s**t” as the only black person waiting to board his flight home last month. When she was right next to the gate agent she started laying into her.

Mo said: “I’ve been giving Tania training and stuff and then sometimes I do end up in the dog house”.

“It wasn’t at the top of her voice but loud”. She called the agent disrespectful a lot of times.

Ms Erdmann continued: “When a supervisor arrived Tania referred to the agent as “this pathetic little woman”. “She said she was taking her sad little life out on them”.

She was swearing a lot, it was peppered throughout.

A spokesman for Mo Farah refused to issue a statement.

“For example I do a double run everyday going out in the morning and in the evening but she just can’t do that. I’m aiming to win this race and we’re such different levels there’s no way she can keep up anywhere near me”.
