Farewell and welcome, John Kasich

A day following GOP presidential hopeful and Ohio Gov. John Kasich’s announcement that he was suspending his campaign, Democratic leaders are pressuring him to disclose how much he paid for his security along the campaign trail.

He can unite the Party better than anyone else. Ted Cruz to drop out, leaving Kasich as Trump’s only competitor – albeit one with no apparent path to the nomination.

Kasich finished a distant third in the contest.

“Prior to tonight’s primary, the Kasich campaign had already secured a large plurality of IN delegates committed to Governor Kasich at a multi-ballot convention as part of the pre-primary delegate selection process”, he added. “If Trump sweeps the Hoosier State, he would have to win only about 40 percent of the delegates in the handful of remaining states to attain the 1,237 needed to mathematically clinch the nomination”.

“It’s kind of inevitable”, said former congressman Chris Shays, a Connecticut Republican and staunch Kasich supporter.

Taking on Trump one-on-one would have required millions more in cash than Kasich has. “If he wants me to support him, he has to earn my trust”. “Gov. Kasich will not simply give up”. Both Trump and Cruz would lose to Clinton by considerable margins in a head-to-head race, winning just 210 and 206 Electoral College votes, respectively.

The Mad Hatter Gibberish pushed by Trump during the primary would weaken America. The party will face a clear choice in Cleveland: win the White House and keep the Supreme Court and U.S. Senate with John Kasich, or lose everything and be wiped out with either of the other two candidates.

John Kasich brought his own brand of compassionate conservatism to the presidential race – an approach that was fiscally smart without being judgmental or divisive.
