Fargo Taps Carrie Coon For Season Three Female Lead
“The Leftovers” star will play opposite Ewan McGregor in the third season of FX’s critically acclaimed anthology series, which switches up the cast from season to season. The character description makes it sound like ideal casting for Coon, who will soon be finished shooting the third and final season of The Leftovers which takes the cast and crew to Australia.

Production on Season 3 is tentatively scheduled to begin later this year for premiere in 2017.
It is rumoured that Season 3 of “Fargo” will be set in 2010, following the events of the breakout drama’s freshman season. This is all to say that it’s a damn exciting thing that she’ll now, as TVLine reports, have another – and perhaps somewhat lighter – starring role on another of cable TV’s more inventive series. Gloria is described as the sort of lady who will keep her wits about her when everyone else would rather panic and doesn’t understand why people have become more infatuated with their phones than the people around them.
While Emmit is a self-assured, handsome real estate magnate, his younger brother Ray is a slack parole officer.

This past December, Fargo showrunner Noah Hawley teased that the new season will have connections to the prior two. Though it is not yet certain how the events of the upcoming installment will tie in with the first run. Her role in the show earned her a Critics’ Choice Award for best actress in a drama series in 2015. The actress is known for her stage work and recently transitioned to the bigger screen with a role in David Finchers Gone Girl.
