Fashion Week Watch: Collections by Kanye, Kiley and Kendall

The mercury topped 80 degrees, but it felt like 100 to numerous models made to wear winter coats, sweaters and jackets as the rapper officially introduced his anticipated Yeezy Season 4 apparel as a part of New York Fashion Week.

The consensus on Kanye West’s latest fashion show was that it was hot – but probably not in the way he was anticipating.

According to the New York Post, models stumbled on the makeshift runway, as the stilettos created by the rapper collapsed under their feet.

Guests were shuttled from Manhattan to a former smallpox museum on Roosevelt Island, where some 100 models including Teyana Taylor and Chanel Iman waited for hours in the heat for the show to begin (The New York Times’ review of the show was titled “Waiting For Kanye”).

“Model passed out in the heat is given water by man in the audience but no one on the #YeezySeason4 team helps”, she also wrote. She went in on the show in what can only be described as a Kanye-style rant. In her editorial for NYMag.com, she felt the civilian models were being tortured on the runway.

“Lots of shoes breaking today at #YEEZYSEASON4 – But the clothes look good!” was the caption of the cringe-worthy vid.

The New York Post reports that the fashion event started nearly two full hours late, with guests “trapped on buses” waiting for Kanye.

Kim Kardashian was joined by Kendall and Kylie Jenner in the star-studded front row. For an hour and 40 minutes, the livestream showed pretty much nothing except for aerial views of New York City; then, finally, models wearing nude bodysuits, black and camouflage army jackets, and white hoodies appeared on the screen.
